LEARNIG STYLES ARE SIMPLY WAYS IN WHICH WE LEARN
LEFT BRAIN: People that use the left side of their brain more prefer a slow step by
step build up of information, often called "linear" learners, they love facts and figures, good lateral thinkers. This is
the academic side of the brain, focuses on language, learning, mathematical information, logical thoughts, sequences and analysis.
RIGHT BRAIN: People that tend to use the right side of their brain more can see the
big picture, they are normally open minded, often refered to as "global" learners. Normally concerned in all things
creative, have good sense of rhyme, rythem, musicand visual stimulation, they love colour and pictures. Tending to understand
and use metaphores, analogies and patterns to learn.
VISUAL LEARNERS:Learn through seeing things, like pictures and diagrams,
they like watching video, or power point presentations, learn through reading. Learn well through reading and writing
tasks, many times remember what they have written after only copying it once. These learners recognise places and seldom get
seriously lost. Teahcers should leave space on handout for these learners to jot notes, give visualstimulation with
graphs, videos, overheads etc, invite questions when speaking for a long period of time to keep them alert, eliminate distractions,
drawing projects are awlays successful learning tools.
AUDITORY LEARNERS: these learners learn best by verbal
communication, take in speech effectively. Good listners, tend to learn best when they read out aloud on their own or when
being taught by a teaching speaking key areas of topics. Teachers should try to put every study into words, define topics
verbalise all lessons.
TACTILE/KINESTHETIC LEARNERS: these people are the doers,
they love to get their hands dirty and try before they buy. Like to do activities, act out metaphors and benefit from
interactive group activities. Cutting and pasting, drawing pictures, doing experiments and having these learners perform activities
like writing or solving problems on the board is a good way to support their learning style.
MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES
VISUAL/SPACIAL : can visualise and imagine, they think in pictures and need creative and vivid
images to retain information. Enjoy looking at maps, diagrams, pictures and indepth descriptions.
VERBAL/LINGUISTIC : able to verbalise their thoughts and feelings very
well, have a good understanding of their language and use of it. Think in words rather than pictures.
LOGICAL/MATHEMATICAL : use reason and logic in all that they do, like to make connections
through information given to them, need to see reason behind things. One could say they are black and white, but very curious,
love to experiement and ask questions
BODILY/KINESTHETIC : control over body & co-ordination. Express through movemnet. Like
interactive activities, like process and getting hands on experience.
MUSICAL/RYTHMIC : these people love music, have a sense of rythme and react well to sound
and patterns. Normally sensitive to everything around them.
INTERPERSONAL : relate and understand to others very well, care about others, react well to
different environements, need attention and encouragement. Great organizers and managers, very verbal communicators and learners.
INTRAPERSON : very reflective people, intouch with themselves and their feelings and thoughts,
take alot of meaning from relationships and can often be dreamers. Normally strong confident people.

DO EFFECT EACH OTHER TO MAKE UP YOUR PERSONAL MAKE UP
